Halloween Carnaval: Where Rocky Horror Time Warped into 2025

The City of West Hollywood once again proved that nobody does Halloween like WeHo does. On Friday, October 31, 2025, Santa Monica Boulevard pulsed with music, costumes, and a spirit of joyful creativity as countless thousands of revelers filled the City’s Rainbow District for the City’s annual Halloween Carnaval. The celebration transformed the heart of West Hollywood into a glittering runway of costumed imagination.

This year, the City tipped its hats (and corsets) to the 50th anniversary of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Carnaval-goers posed in themed photo boothd and danced the “Time Warp” alongside the legendary shadow cast Sins of the Flesh, who brought the cult classic’s mischief to life right on Santa Monice Boulevard. From fishnets to feather boas, West Hollywood became a living tribute to Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s fabulous legacy.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, first released in 1975, enjoyed a half-century renaissance throughout 2025 with new 4K restorations, a 55-city tour featuring original cast members, screenings at the Academy Museum and Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and a remastered vinyl edition. West Hollywood’s nod to the Rocky Horror Picture Show phenomenon fit perfectly into the year-long celebration of cinematic rebellion and rock ‘n’ roll glamour.

Stretching a full mile along historic Route 66, the 2025 Halloween Carnaval featured a DJ stage at Santa Monica and N. San Vicente Boulevards and a parade of creativity that blurred the line between costume and couture.

When the final beats faded at 11 p.m., the streets, bars, and nightclubs were still filled to the curbs and rafters with entrance lines stretching full City blocks. Eventually the glitter settled, and another chapter of WeHo Halloween legend was written. The City’s advice to anyone who missed it? There’s always next year (and you might want to start planning your costume now!).
