On a bright Friday morning in late March 2026, the West Hollywood community came together with open hearts and helping hands for a one-day donation drive benefiting the City’s Holloway Interim Housing Program. Held at the West Hollywood City Hall Community Plaza, the event offered a simple yet powerful way for residents to make a meaningful difference, one donation at a time.
Throughout the morning, community members dropped off bags and boxes filled with essential items, from cozy clothing and fresh linens to hygiene products and snacks. City staff and partners from Ascencia were on hand to greet donors, share information, and highlight how each contribution would directly support individuals taking important steps toward permanent housing.
The Holloway Interim Housing Program, located at the former Holloway Motel, has become a vital part of the City’s compassionate response to homelessness. With 20 rooms and stays of up to 90 days, the program provides not just shelter, but stability by offering supportive services designed to help residents transition into long-term housing and rebuild their lives.
The success of the donation drive underscored a key truth: community care is at the heart of lasting change. Each donated item, whether a pair of socks, a phone charger, or a simple toiletry, helped create a welcoming and dignified environment for residents beginning their journey toward independence.
For those who missed the event, opportunities to support the Holloway Interim Housing Program continue year-round through donations, volunteering, and spreading awareness. In West Hollywood, small acts of kindness continue to add up to something truly transformative.
