2026 Homeless Count Shows Encouraging Local Progress

Newly released data from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) from July 2026 shows encouraging progress in the City of West Hollywood’s ongoing efforts to address homelessness.

According to the 2026 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, 36 people were identified as experiencing homelessness in West Hollywood, compared with 79 in 2025. The number of people living in vehicles, tents, or makeshift shelters also declined, from 22 to six.

Homelessness remains a complex regional challenge. The new data reflects the City’s continued investment in compassionate, coordinated services that help people move toward stable housing.

Through the West Hollywood Homeless Initiative, the City partners with social service providers, Los Angeles County agencies, and community organizations to connect people with outreach, case management, behavioral health services, housing assistance, and other critical resources.

The City has also expanded its efforts through the Holloway Interim Housing Program, which provides a safe, supportive place for people in the City who are chronically homeless, living with a diagnosed disability, and able to manage their own daily living needs. Operated by Ascencia under contract with the City, Holloway served 32 people through the second quarter of its first program year, provided more than 3,100 bed nights, and maintained an average occupancy rate of 88 percent to help people experiencing homelessness move toward permanent housing.

Together with homelessness prevention programs and rental assistance, these investments are helping improve outcomes for individuals while strengthening the community.
