New Parking Rules E-Bikes and E-Scooters

We've all been there – that moment when an e-bike or e-scooter is left in the middle of the sidewalk, making it difficult to get by. Beginning Friday, August 7, 2026 the City of West Hollywood and Lime are introducing a new parking system designed to keep sidewalks clear and make getting around easier for everyone.

Riders will now be required to end trips at designated virtual parking locations, which are shown in the Lime app. Trips cannot be completed unless the device is parked in one of these approved locations. The designated parking areas were selected to help keep sidewalks accessible while continuing to support convenient, car-free transportation around West Hollywood.

The City and Lime are also launching a public awareness campaign to help riders understand the new requirements, with information available through the Lime app, City communications, digital displays, and social media. A high-visibility enforcement program focused on proper parking and safe riding will begin later this summer.

As California's most walkable city, West Hollywood continues to support transportation options that make it easier to get around while keeping sidewalks safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone.

Community members can help improve the program by suggesting additional parking locations through Engage WeHo or reporting improperly parked or abandoned devices through the City's Service Request system at www.weho.org/servicerequest or by using the Official City of West Hollywood app.
